  • 1b. The cueball must be moved a noticeable distance when taking the break.

  • 2. If you sink the 8 ball on a break you are required to rerack.

  • 3. If yahoo gives a "ball in hand" after sinking 2 balls of different types off the break then the next shot is to be taken where it lies.
If you fail to play the ball where it lies you are required to rerack. This is an obvious Yahoo glitch as neither player has committed
a foul shot and therefore BIH should NOT be taken.

  • 4. We have a "GL" and "GG" rule in Straightshots.
It is a requirement it be said. However "GG" is to be said AFTER the 8 ball has dropped and not before.
Should this happen before the drop you risk having your opponent send in a complaint, (Screenshot required).
If three complaints are received then a mandatory 24 hour penalty will be imposed against you.
It is in your best interest, no matter the outcome of your game, to show good sportsmanship.

  • 5. Attempting to intimidate an opponent with "jinxing" or "taunting" is not allowed.

  • 6. Gamesmanship and sledging ARE allowed but if asked to stop then you are to do so immediately.

  • 7. No Forced Forfeits "FF" under any circumstances. This includes, quitting and forfeiting on yourself before a game has ended.

  • 8. Glitches by yahoo are a fact of life in yahoo pool, learn to live with them; excessive complaining about them will
get you both disrespect and a penalty.

  • 9. Under normal circumstances the member that asks for an ss game is the one that does the inviting.
(This is not a specific rule but is a matter of common courtesy)

  • 10. In tournaments any disputes will be settled by the TD that is conducting the tournament and the decision of the TD is final.
Failure to comply with the instruction of the TD in any dispute will result in the disqualification of the offender.

  • 11. The "purple ball" break is the only break - at this time - that is prohibited in Straightshots
           – this is when both the 12 ball (purple stripe) and the 2 ball (blue solid) are sunk off the break.

  • 12. Players are to be aware that StraightShots has a 24hour inactivity for rungs.

  • 13. All re-racks are to be played as a best of 3 game.

  • 14. Any complaints about any rule violations are to be substantiated with a screenshot and forwarded to the HTD in charge of complaints.
